backstage from milan

These stunning images capture for me, the beauty of fashion from behind the scenes of a catwalk show. The cinematic quality of these photographs help to portray the models as characters in the lead up to the 'big show'. I heart theses images which I think are the epitome of fashion photography. Character, beauty and fashion... what more could you want?

aviator jackets

My highlight of LFW has to be the Burberry Prorsum show... here's my show report!

On the 23rd February 2010 Burberry made fashion history by live streaming their A/W 10 show in 3D, and man was it worth it! With a star studded front row and a exciting new collection this fashion date was not to be missed! Overall the collection was fantastic and aside from writing history Burberry produced a collection full of hugely desirable pieces with longevity. Gorgeous sheepskin lined aviator jackets with double collars synced with the soundtrack of stormy weather ensured that this key piece was on everyone’s must haves! With a set military theme played out through classic military coats in navy blue and details of multiple buckles, gold buttons and zips which created cropped jackets Burberry highlighted that the military is set to continue. A key focus on leather trousers and thigh high snakeskin stiletto boots confirmed that next season ones legs should certainly be dressed in leather. This combined with the softer autumnal colour palette and silk bandage dresses in chiffon and silk, created a Burberry woman with a tough exterior.

My mum has a brown avaitor jacket which I have always wanted but it literally drowns me. So I have come up with the plan to ask (very nicely) if I could have it, and then get it tailored to fit me!! Great plan... I think, but slighly worried it may cost as just buying one from the A/W collection!

I can't believe it's been over a year since my last visit to Paris. I promised myself that I would return as soon as I could. I absolutely heart the city it is my favourite place in the world, so here's a little Parisian style... because god dam it I need it- and I'm sure everyone does!

komakino

Day 5. Menswear. Last Show. Vauxhall Fashion Scout. 11.30.

Komakino was my final show this season with Blow PR, and unfortunately it did not meet my expectations. These 'expectation' I had for my only menswear show, styled by the creative director of LOVE magazine Anders I had hoped may change my opinion of menswear, which I sometimes feel is a little boring. Overall the models were poor, the choreography dull and the collection average. Andres styling was good, but for me after a week of wearing 'uniform' black, a black collection did not excite me in anyway or how.

shot of cuture

New website NOWNESS.com launches tomorrow (Thursday 25th). Owned by LVMH, the lifestyle website will feature editorials that focus on fashion, art and design, travel, plus food and technology! But rather than feature highly publicised launches or mainline collections it sweetly focuses on hidden, out of the way gems – a cool boutique hotel for example, a designer's muse, or the work of an artist or mix by a DJ who might have inspired a designer. Sounds amazing- I can't wait for my daily morning shot of culture over breakfast.

(The first day will feature a preview of the short film Mean To Me starring Agyness Deyn.)

elle style awards

The Olsen beauties graced the red carpet at this years ELLE style awards, Ashley wore vintage Christian Lacroix and to-die-for Fendi heels. While Mary-Kate wore Lanvin and carried a Proenza PS1 clutch. I think for a change Ashley has won hands down!

backstage

Few are lucky enough to experience a fashion show from backstage, but these beautiful shots from LOVE magazines blog are almost as exhilerating. I am in love with the style of these images, firstly because of the un-stage spontaneity of the moments captured, and secondly because of their gorgeous flattening soft tones. These images are stunning and manage to find a silence and stillness from an environment that at the time would have been mayhem. Backstage at Mulberry, purely beautiful.

from behind closed doors

The past couple of days have been so surreal, I have seen fashion show after fashion show, through my time working as an intern at BLOW pr. Finally I now have 2 days off to reflect on the past couple of days and re-sync before I attend my final show on Wednesday morning. This I hope to be one of the highlights of my week... Its 'MAN day' so other than the immature excitement to watch male models walk up and down, one of my favourite stylist Anders Sølvsten Thomsen is styling the show! The latter of course most exciting, watch this space photo to follow.

I have blogged the shows that I have attended but there we're a few 'BLOW' highlights which I could not photograph myself. Either due to the fact that I was just not working the said show or I was busy working backstage! So here are a few of my favourites which I watched from behind closed doors.

Bora Akram

Favourite Look- I adore the jacket, button up shirt and harem trousers look, I love the preppy chic feel!

Iris Van Herpen
The styling of the show is insane I love the hair and make up and everything is just accessorised so well, you wouldn't believe how much the girls were raving about the shoes. Out of this world amazing. My new favourite.

Bernard Chandran

I watched this show from backstage and loved every second of the atmosphere and excitement that you feel from being back there, a feeling that could not be replicated through many experienced. Definitely a high point of the week. I was backstage long enough to see the next designer set up. THe House of Holland show was scheduled after our and I was sooo tempted to hide in a cupboard until it started! If only I did, maybe I could have sat between Alexa and Pixie! Oh if only....

(also I swear my soon to be new hairdresser in Nottingham Angelo was doing the hair for House of Holland!! ekkk exciting!)
